\"CyFunOn September 4, 2025, Brand Compliance Belgi\u00eb became the first certification body to receive CyberFundamentals accreditation from BELAC to conduct CyFun verification.<\/p>\n

With this accreditation, Brand Compliance Belgium can support organizations in presumably complying with the NIS2 legislation.<\/p>\n

Having previously conducted audits for the Flemish SME e-wallet scheme (kmo-portefeuille), Brand Compliance Belgium has expanded its services to include CyFun\u00ae verifications. The CyberFundamentals Framework was developed by the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB)<\/a>. It provides measures to protect data, reduce the risk of cyberattacks and strengthen organisations\u2019 cyber resilience.<\/p>\n

An important step towards NIS2 compliance<\/h2>\n

This accreditation enables Brand Compliance Belgi\u00eb to conduct conformity assessments that meet accreditation requirements. This is important for organizations that fall under the NIS2 directive. Obtaining a CyFun verification statement can lead to obtaining a CyFun\u00ae label, which demonstrably certifies compliance with the NIS2 directive in Belgium.<\/p>\n

Accreditation for CyberFundamentals<\/h3>\n

\u201cThis accreditation confirms our competence and impartiality regarding our services,\u201d says Pieternel Vorstermans-Janssen, Chief Compliance Officer at Brand Compliance Belgi\u00eb. \u201cFor Belgian organizations that are serious about their digital resilience, now is the time to start implementing CyberFundamentals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Has your organization been designated as an essential or important entity under the NIS2 directive? Then now is the time to take action. Verification based on the CyberFundamentals Framework is a practical and feasible tool for fulfilling the duty of care under the NIS2 directive. CyberFundamentals may also be of interest if you have business relationships in the Belgian market.<\/p>\n

ISO 27001 certification and CyFun<\/h2>\n

In addition to CyberFundamentals, it is sometimes also possible to obtain a CyFun\u00ae label with ISO 27001 certification<\/a>. The ISO 27001 certification must meet several requirements. For example, the ISO 27001 certificate must cover the organization’s full scope, and the desired level of assurance for controls must be included in the Statement of Applicability.<\/p>\n

The CCB has authorized Brand Compliance B.V. (Netherlands and Belgium) to have essential and important entities obtain ISO 27001 certification under NIS2.<\/p>\n
