Privacy is a great asset. And a topical subject in contemporary times.
On January 28, as every year, the International Data Protection Day is celebrated. This day was created to raise awareness about the protection of personal data and the promotion of privacy rights. It is an important reminder for individuals to be aware of their rights and for organizations to handle personal data responsibly.
Privacy is also one of the pillars within our certification body. In recent years, Brand Compliance has been involved in drawing up a privacy/GDPR standard: the BC 5701:2022 . This standard sets out the principles and rules that organizations must adhere to when processing personal data. Implementing this standard can help you as an organization demonstrate to your stakeholders that you meet the requirements of the GDPR.
An organization must set up various processes to ensure that the processing of personal data is in accordance with the requirements of the GDPR. With the BC 5701 certification you give the outside world the confidence that your organization conforms to the requirements of BC 5701 and thus to the GDPR.
If you would like to know more about the GDPR certification mechanism, you can download a free white paper from our website, in which various topics are covered:
- The value of GDPR certification
- The construction of the BC 5701
- Suitable for whom and what
- The contents of the BC 5701
- Implementation and certification
You can also contact us for a BC 5701 implementation training. In this five-day training, participants will learn the skills and knowledge needed to successfully implement the BC 5701. During the course, Joost Holstvoogd (lead author in the BC 5701 development team) covers the basics of the BC 5701 standard, including its structure and content. From his experience as a Data Protection Officer, Joost has a fascination for the organizational impact of the GDPR.
