We would like to inform you about the transition to NEN 7510-1:2024, the standard for information security in healthcare. This new standard was published on December 16, 2024.
As a result of the recent publication of the associated certification scheme NCS 7510:2025, we would like to share the following information with you.
Accreditation and transition period
The Dutch Accreditation Council (RvA) has informed us that a transition period of 24 months applies for the implementation of the new version of the standard. This transition period starts from the publication of NCS 7510:2025.
NCS 7510:2025 is the standard with requirements for bodies that perform audits for the purpose of certification of information security management systems in healthcare. As a certification body, we must comply with this.
It means the following:
- Brand Compliance must be accredited for NEN 7510-1:2024 by February 20, 2027, based on NCS 7510:2025.
- Brand Compliance may carry out audits against the ‘old’ standard NEN 7510:2017+A1:2020 until February 20, 2027 at the latest.
- As a certificate holder, you will remain certified against the ‘old’ standard (NEN 7510:2017+A1:2020) until February 20, 2027 at the latest.
Use of NEN 7510:2017+A1:2020
Although NEN 7510:2017+A1:2020 has been officially withdrawn, the use of this standard for certification purposes remains possible under accreditation until February 20, 2027.
Publication NCS 7510 and its impact on certification
Brand Compliance must apply for accreditation for the new NCS 7510:2025. Until the accreditation has been approved, no certificates based on the new NEN 7510-1:2024 can be issued.
